What height should I mow my lawn? |
You don’t want to take more than 1/3 the length of the grass blade off in one cutting. During peak growing times it is not uncommon to mow twice a week with some lawns. Spring and fall you can mow shorter at 2 ½ inches.
During summer months you should mow higher at 3-3 ½ inches. |

What’s the difference between a power rake and a dethatching? |
Power raking is just a fluff for the lawn to remove light debris and loose grass. A dethatching is and aggressive way to remove thatch buildup from the lawn. Dethatching is not done unless the buildup is ¾” or more. Some thatch is desirable as it helps retain moisture in the lawn. You should consider a dethatching if you have an older sodded lawn or had a disease in the lawn in past years. |
